Thought Process:
At the moment, it seems very difficult, if even possible, to acquire duel points. With Arena-based dueling, there can be set terms and conditions for each duel. These terms and conditions must be set by a duelist and/or a participating judge in the matter.
Making duel points more accessible through arena duels may boost moral because having more means the possibility of spending more, which can be a fun, little side project for some, if not all, of the people at ADA.
What It Is:
An arena duel is a duel in the academy where the winner would be awarded duel points.
Rules For An Arena Duel:
The challenger will set the terms / conditions of the duel (Time, whether or not it's TCG/OCG or a match or single), but the challenged party will be able to ban up to two decks (Example: True King/Draco, Pend Magicians) from the arena duel. Doing this allows fair and possibly fun gameplay for both parties because the challenger is getting priority of the type of duel they wish to play, but the challenged party can choose what decks they'd prefer not to play as.
Of course, this is all a general basis for it, the challenger/challenged parties can decide their own set terms and conditions.
If there is a dispute (Ruling, social, etc) between the two parties in the arena, the parties will have two options:
1. Talk to someone who would be neutral in regards to social standings, and/or talk to someone who is qualified to judge Yu-Gi-Oh to settle the dispute.
2. Cancel the arena challenge.
Awarding Points & Confirmation:
Let's say for a single duel win, the winner gets 25 points. The winner of a match duel (2-1, 2-0 would NOT matter), the winner gets 75 points instead.
The winner would need to post the duel recording, and the other party's name in order to get the points. In regards to verification, the poster would need to provide a screenshot of the challenge and confirmation of the challenge, with the terms that the two parties agreed upon (this can be lenient, as long as they have the challenge confirmation). The screenshot(s) of confirmation can either me put into their own separate post, or can be posted in the replies of the results of the arena duel.
Without some form of confirmation, points will not be awarded. No exceptions.
Shadow Duel vs. Arena Duel:
Arena duels are meant to be a casual way of dueling for points, earning some, and dueling amongst peers.
Shadow duels, on the other hand, are inherently more dangerous. With that in mind, I believe Shadow duels should have the same terms and conditions as Arena, except for one big thing.
Instead of having a set amount of points awarded, points should be set up for a wager. The challenger sets the number, and, if accepted, the challenged party would accept the number. (For example, if James Skullblood challenged Brandyn to a Shadow duel, James would wager 500 points. If James wins, Brandyn would lose 500 points and James would gain 500 points.)
And that's a suggestion I have, just to make things a little more interesting.
